Statement:
Birds have no arms. They cannot speak. They build nests, hunt for food and defend their young with their beaks. They are delicate creatures that defy gravity and fill the forest with idiosyncratic song. Tragically, since 1970 North America has lost 3 billion birds. They die from feral cat attacks, lack of shelter, climate change, scarce food supply, and no source of water. I want to call attention to the importance of native habitat for the remaining bird species on our planet. If we can see the authenticity of nature we are more likely to preserve it.
